The Sin Bin – A Poem

The world does not have a rug so big

To cover up your sin.

Nor does it hold a brush so large

To sweep it in the bin.

On earth no landfill can contain

Such sin contamination.

To cover, hide or stuff it down

Proves quite a consternation.

With what or whom should we compare

The sin we have in view?

Who is really wise enough

To tell you what is true?

I feel the bible’s truth can tell

You more about this woe.

It tells of many types of sin

And how to beat this foe.

It tells us of a God of mercy

Who sent His beloved son,

Into this world of darkest sin

It’s power to kill undone.

A sacrificial death he died

That was why He was sent.

He laid down His life to take

Your heavy punishment.

Now you won’t need to brush your sins

Under some old rug.

Now you’ve no need to try to hide them

From the Holy God above.

He can see them all whatever you do

Worldly ploys are all in vain.

Jesus Christ is the only way

To take away your pain.

Your pain of anguished sleepless nights

Of wishing sins undone.

The eternal mess can be turned around

But only with God’s son.

He says to all who’re heavy burdened,

“Come to me, I’ll give you rest.”

He says to all the sinful men,

“Repent and then be blessed.”

Blessed with His pardon freely given

For sins you have committed.

He’ll wash your soul as white as snow,

And then you’ll be acquitted.
